After graduating from Doshisha University Faculty of Law in 1996, he joined Sumitomo Corporation. He was in charge of localizing American biotech venture companies in Japan, and worked on business development, product development, and promotion for the Japanese market in the Silicon Valley with the emphasis on CATV industry. In 2005 he left the company to pursue an MBA at the University of Virginia. In 2007 he joined Rakuten, Inc. and worked in business strategy and organizational reforms. In 2008 he left Rakuten to launch an Online Community for medical employees. In 2011 he co-founded and co-represents Welby, Inc.
