Dr. Osamu Doi graduated from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Tokyo in 1967, and carried out his master’s research at the university’s Institute of Applied Microbiology in 1969. He was granted the Ph.D degree by the University of Tokyo in 1973.
Dr. Doi joined the National Institute of Health Japan as a researcher in 1969 and he has studied as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Washington University, St.Louis, USA.
Dr. Doi is Chief Executive of Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Regulatory Science Society of Japan (PMRJ)
Before this, he was Senior Executive Director of the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency(PMDA), Councilor for Pharmaceutical Affairs of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Director of the Narcotics Division, Safety Division, New Drugs Division of the Pharmaceutical Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
